111 chassis hood insulation pad

My hood insulation pad was detriorating and removed for a recent complete strip and paint job. An OE replacement pad is quoted at almost $300! Has anyone used an economically feasible aftermarket substitute that they are satisfied with? If so what is the brand and where can it be obtained?

there are some aftermarket insulation vendors, or you could buy one from a different car (mgbs have hood pads, though too small), the problem is usually getting it to stick, the engine heat melts the glue
