Will w140 rims fit w124?

I haven an extra set of w140 rims (16 x 7.5 with 51mm offset) that I would like to give to my son who has a 93 400e w124.

He currently is running the recommended tire tire size is 195/65-15 (I think the offset on the w124 is 38.)

Can he run a 215/55/16 or 205/55/16 on the 16 x 7.5 rims with a 51mm offset without problems?

Thanks!

No.
S-Class or SL class rims will not fit. W140 is an S-Class. Look for clk, slk, c or e class rims in 16 or 17 inch with a width of 7.5 or 8. Take 8 in the front only if the offset is 40 or less.
