Will R129 8 hole 16x8 ET34 fit a w124 e300?

Will R129 8 hole 16x8 ET 34 fit a w124 e300 diesel?
I can't seem to find a definate answer anywhere.
I don't mind changing tyres to 215x55x16 so long as they don't rub.
Thanks.

as far as I have been told no, but I think they could fit, it would be a tight squeeze.

I dunno. I was told I couldn;t years ago when I wanted to put the ones off my dad's old benz on them.

8" wide wheels will cause tire rubbing on a w124

I successfully ran 205/55WR16 BFG KDWS tires on 16x8 ET34 (aka, 500E, R129 wheels) on a W124 wagon front & rear.

225's will rub. 215's MIGHT be OK with a slight fender-roll.

Don't be fooled, 205/55R16's on an 8-inch wheel is very wide and the turn-in/feel is great.
