I'm about to order a set of ATP type 8 wheels from Tire Rack for the wife's SD. I mainly want to update the looks of the car and provide a steady comfortable ride. Would I be better off with 15x7 or 16x7.5 Also what tires are a good value. We live in Florida and she uses the car for long freeway commutes.

Well there isn't much of a price difference between the 15" and 16" wheels. So I would say 16" wheels. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the size was 195/70/14 originally, so I would go with 225/50/16s. With the 225/50/16, I would go with the Dunlop D60 A2 JLB for $82. If the 225 require a fender rolling, and you don't feel like going through that much, I would go 205/55/16 and Firestone Firehawk SH30s. Good Luck.

I would be happy to assist you with your order and I think that the visual aspect of a 16" upgrade would be your best choice and you will get the added benefit of better handling. As I'm sure you're aware of most newer MB's are coming with larger diameter wheels and so the 16's would update you car very nicely.
Thanks, Luke
