OEM 15 hole wheels on an 82 coupe ?
Is it possible to fit the later model "New Look" 15 hole original factory wheels that were standard equipment on 1980's 420, 500, & 560's, on a 1982 126 SEC, as the 82 came with the earlier finned type "Old Style" alloy wheel.

Yep, they fit without any problem, and will really make a dramatic difference in the look.

I am pretty sure you will have to get the bolts that come with the 15 hole wheels because the bundt style wheel bolts won't fit those wheels. Am I on the right track? I helped put a set on a friend's '81 300SD but it has been too long ago.

Yeah they fit, but make sure you get the ET25 15-hole wheels and not the later ET46 or so 15-hole wheels fit on the W124s and W201s.
i'm guessing you also need the lug bolts. I put the replicas of those on my (used to be) 300CD Turbo

I have the same style rims on my W123 300D, except they're the chrome style. What size tires did you run on your 300CD Holson? I bought mine with 225 60R 15's on it, and they're a little too fat for my taste, ride a little rough, and cause the speedo to be off by as much as +7mph. I guess I need to go find some bolts for a 14" bundt cake rim, since that's what the PO left as a spare, and bolts are much cheaper than rims.

Lug Bolts
The lug bolts for a Bundt Rim is around a 1/4 inch longer than the lug bolts for the old steel rims and the lug bolts for the smooth face rims for the 560 etc are about a 1/4 inch longer than the lug bolts for the Bundt Rims. The 124 uses almost the same as the 560 but I think they are just a bit longer.....Jim

The lug bolts for flat face (15 slot) wheels have a long shank, and they are no longer available from MB with the stainless face they had when introduced. Now they come with an ugly face that you place some plastic caps to over. I like the old ones much better, like the set for only $7 on Ebay. hint hint http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7951817805&category=33749
I have the MB part numbers for the correct 126 wheels with 25 offset, I can research that if you want. These wheels seem to usually be chrome plated and come from 420SEL, 560SEL, or SEC of the late 80's. FWIW, I use these on my 123 300TD's and the handling is improved somewhat over the 14 in tires and wheels. Speedo error shouldn't be much an issue of you use the right size tire (205-65-15?) (PS. Rims are the outside edge of a wheel. A wheel is the thing you put tires on - everybody is wrong on this!@ 0
