15 inch bundt-cake rims?

14 inch 70 205's are getting next to impossible to find. Tire rack has Sumitomo and Firestone Affinity...that's all they have in an H rating. 15 inch 60 or 65 205's still offer a lot of choices. I would not even consider going to a different style rim. I love the bundt cakes. I don't like the SDL wheels and any other MB wheels 1986-92 (shiny pizza pans). 1992 and newer wheels look rediculous on an 83 300sd. I just love the OEM bundt cakes and won't change to a different wheel in any case. They look timeless, strong and totally appropriate on a 126. What I really need is a 15 inch bundt cake. Has anyone ever seen these available?

I know that they exist. However, finding a set of them may be close to impossible.

I have a bundt rim I will give to you for free

I have a w123 bundt rim I will give to someone for free if they will cover the shipping cost. It is in good condition with no nicks, marks, or curb rash. I pulled it by mistake at a parts yard trying to make a full set for my w126 1982 300sd. I thought they were the same, but alas, they are not - different offset but exact same look.

The rims can be found in parts yards. I know a one in Virginia that has a full set and some here in NC that have a set. If you can find enough of the spare tires in the trunk, those rims are the best.

15 inch bundt cakes available!

Hi,

15 inch bundt cakes (the originals from FUCHS) are available again. Some weeks ago FUCHS started a small extra production of the alu rims in 15 inch! for MB classic center in Germany. BUT the price is about 430,- EUR (each !!!). Same look not Fuchs are still available in the yards here in Germany sometimes. BTW I got the 15 inch (not Fuchs) for my 83 SD and have the problem of getting the chrome look without real chrome.
Chromed alu rims are not allowed over here.
The design is called Barock or Barock Felgen, do a search i.e. on german ebay.

Yeah, those 15" bundts are on the car with a 5-speed manual in it.

I agree 15" Bundt cake rims are as rare as hens teeth....even harder to find than the elusive Ronal R9 or the AMG Penta rims......

15" bundts do exsist. Once and a great while you will see them pop up on Ebay. Last set I saw was about a year and a half ago. They were in pretty nice shape. The set of four went for something close to $500.

There was a set of Fuchs 15" bundts on German Ebay, two days ago when I looked. May still be there. At the time the bid was ~650 euros. Couldn't decipher if overseas shipping was available.

Watch out for any eBay wheels that say 15 in.

If you spot Bundt wheels listed as being 15 inch wheels, you better ask the seller if they measured them rim to rim or not. A 14 inch wheel measures close to 15 inches across the rim diameter, whereas the bead dimension is otherwise. I was drooling over a set of "Fifteen inch Mercedes alloy wheels" on eBay when I asked the seller where they got the info, and discovered they measured them with their tape. Ha!
A seller who actually knows their 15 in wheels are off a 6.9 or whatever will surely have a high reserve or starting bid because they are quite rare.

I woulde kill for a set of 15" Bundts.... and I will agree, the design of the Bundt wheels are SO classic looking. A little sporty, elegant, and fits the look of the early w126 and in my opinion all w123's. Ive seen a couple early W201 190E's and D's rolling on a set of Bundts and they even looked surprisingly good on those cars...

Heres a pic, courtesy of MBJOE, of his beautiful 240D fitted with a set of 15" Bundts. Enjoy.

I would be interested in a set, too, if the price was "reasonable." Any chance we could get somebody to import a batch of these new ones from Fuchs? [Thanks tomnik for that news!] Sounds like there's enough interest here to make it work.

I've used 14" 205/70 Bridgstones, Dunlops and currently using 195/70 Yokohama's. The 195/70 drive more nicely in town. Since I don't drive much over 70, I don't pay much attention to the H rating. 14" Polished Bundts!

Wannawagon-

Good idea! It seems that there would be plenty of interest for Fuchs to import a small batch.

I know of 1 other person who would be interested in addition to all of the members who have already vocalized the desire ofr a set on here in the past.

I've seen a CD with 15 bundts, and got one out of the yards here and refinished it with alot of care- then the cheap used tire store around the corner from me trashed the hub taking the tire off it They look quite a bit better than the 14's and you can tell them apart right away.

The Bridgstones and Dunlops are gone along with the Mich-Energies, Yoko's and Toyo's in 205/70. I realize I could go back to a 195 tire, but i think they look too small on my 300sd. They look too skinny and too short (too much empty space in the wheel-well).
