gee that close up of curb rash looks pretty awful
but at that price could be spun down to repair
Those would look nice on my '87 300D though. Oh well I'll pass, thanks!

If those are EXACT copies of the MB wheels, they were made for the W220 S class with something like 225/60/16's on them. The lugs for that car are slightly bigger than the standard lugs for the older cars. 220's 140's and ML's all use the thicker lug bolts, not to say they won't fit but, they may not sit on the hub correctly...

They are still ugly

MB redesigned those rims for 2005. Theyre now 17" with sharper looking lines- much better if you ask me. I have three, waiting on one more...

The Ronal R-9 is the knockoffs of the AMG Penta rims.....and those have the correct offset for the W123, W126 AND the W116 chassis cars....

Not very classy looking, they are just run of the mill W220 wheels. I was never a big fan of those or the bottle cap wheels on the W210.

I have a set exactly like this with tires and I was planning to put them onto the w116 or maybe the w115 but I was led to believe that the offset and bolt thickness is different. Even if there was enough wheel well clearance, wouldn't the wheels technically work if I obtained the thicker bolts?

The R-9 is the thick flat five spoke. The 70's and 80's AMG cars used the Penta.....the R-9 is a knockoff or the penta......

THe Tan W116 I own has the R-9 on them in the photos

Photos of my W116

Side by side the Pent's are a lot different but the basic style is the same.....

I need to post photos of my W123 with the real AMG Penta rims on it....

trusting a nearly 4,000 lb car to wheels spaced dangerously far out with spacers and long lug bolts is not a smart thing to do......but yes it can be bolted up......just not safely.

Point well taken...and that's why I am NOT going to attempt it Going 120mph and having the wheels shear off could be considered to be a minor inconvenience.

I wish they wouldn't make spacers for MB's. They way I understand MB's system is the only purpose of the lugs is to hold the wheel on the hub. The hub actually supports the wheel. So if you stick spacers in their then all of a sudden the bolts are doing a job they were never ment to do.

However H&R sells the only set of spacers I would ever put on a MB, they are 30mm though, but they basicly extend the hub. They cost about $300 for the whole car.

but those are still far more risky than a set of wheels with the proper offset.
