I have about 8K miles on my recently acquired 90 500SL, and can't seem to eliminate high speed vibration. Dealer (not official MB dealer) admits the wheels are after-market, and they are newer style than on spare in trunk (Like the wife's 95 C-class). Could these be the problem? If so, what are alternatives and relative costs?? Would original equipment MB "newer" style still work on my vehicle?
Have not yet tried dynamic balancing....The wheels aren't in great shape; dealer repainted them before I took delivery in September.....so I'm not wedded to them.... |

Mileage correction....
I meant to say that I've driven about 8K miles since I took possession of the car. It now has about 80K on it, and I suspect there may be other suspension opportunities for improvement, ie struts, etc.....sorry about the miles!
