Media blasting and powdercoating with silver and clearcoat was $75 per wheel. The coating guys talked me out of keeping a polished lip as they weren't sure the fiberglass tape would leave a clean line; they reminded me about the maintenance of the polished part, and they joked that after I "Kerb" the rim a few times, I can get it polished them . . . jokers.

yours are definately very different than mine.....mine are not flat like yours at all...they step outward at the rim and angle towards the car to the lug area.

we need a full car shot to see how they look...

Looks great. I always liked those wheels

I personally would have gone for the polished lip.

Can an owner of the AMG Pentas advise what these rims are like Under the paint? The lips polish up well, is the alloy under the paint a frosted or smooth finish as per the lips. Don't want to repaint but need to know if the surface of the wheels are the same as the lips. Any advice would be appreciated.

The lips were machined smooth, but the spoke and centers are not. The are smooth, but not as smooth as the lip. The best way to describe it is that the faces "metal" is the same as the inside of the wheel dish.

Sorry for the grief, has anyone polished Pentas or is the finish just not up to it hence requiring the silver re-paint?
Thanks again.

Penta center caps:

Anyone know where to get the center caps for penta wheels, either MB or AMG. I recently obtained four wheels from Germany but no caps were with the wheels...thanks!

The lips will polish up beautifully; I started by removing as much of the old paint as would come off with standard-grade paint remover and a 1400 psi pressure washer. Followed that with 400 grit, then 600 grit, then 1000 grit sand paper, then 0000 steel wool. Finally, used jewelers rouge a good quality buffing pad until I got the finish I was looking for. I too found that the center and the spokes are a different finish, so those were simply sanded and painted. Good luck!!!
