The standard size for my car is 195 65HR 15. Can I install 205 65HR 15 without any problems? The car came with Continental Contact CH 95's. I plan to buy them again.
TYIA for your reply.

205/65/15 would actually feel pretty good I think. Try Pirelli P6000 for performance, Michelin Pilot XGT H4 for wear and performance. Contis suck. Avoid them.

Toyo tires

I've got lots of miles on Toyo tires, and they are some of the best kept secrets on the tire market. I run their snows (Observe) on both cars (have a crushed walnut compound in the rubber!), and run Toyo Proxes FZ4s on my wagon as summer tires. Mr bro-in-law has an '88 300TE that runs Toyo Proxes H4 all seasons in 205/65-15 and he absolutely loves them (and they last 80k+)!. I plan to fit Proxes T1s on my 500E when I finish burning up the Michelin Pilots...want to compare their ultra-performance stuff.

I'll report in. Hehe.

I agree with John. If you are going to stay with the factory wheel, go with a 205 60 for a little bit better handling and look. Instead of Contis, go with Michelin, Bridgestone, Dunlop, or Pirelli. I had a 95 E420 and changed to the 17" AMG alloys with 235 45 17 Pirelli P7000 SuperSports. GOOD LUCK!

The W124 E420s suspension required more sidewall to weed out the stiffness in the front. Thus, I always suggest 205/65/15 on 6.5" rims or 215/60/15 on 7" rims. 205/60/15 feels WAY too stiff. This is a different suspension than the 300E, don't forget. In Europe, standard fare on a 400E was 215/55/16, not 205/55/16 or 225/50/16 on 16" x 7J wheels (my wheels that I have on my 260E).
