I have a 1989 300SE with the standard 15 hole alloys (7x15, bought from jake at tire-rack last year, I would have asked for Luke, but I wasn't aware of Mercedesshop at the time )
I live in the UK, so I'm not too sure if tire makes and models are the same, but let's have a go anyway.
At the moment I am running the standard size Avon CR338 tires. I am looking to replace the tires, I am not really to concerned about handling around corners, I usually drive on the motorway/highway. I am really looking for the least possible noise and the best ride.

Thanks for all your help guys!

I have Continental Contacttouring CV90s on my 420SEL for summer and they are great. If that doesn't do it for you I think you'll be hard pressed to find a tire better than a Michelin. Call your local dealer and see what they recommend. I was thinking about Michelin MXV4s, but the dealer said they weren't load rated for my car.

The Energy MXV4 Plus is one of the best tires when considering ride quality. We do ship to the UK all of the time and I would be happy to assist you in your pruchase.

Jason, somebody was blowing smoke up your skirt when they told you the load rating BS about your car.

Luke

Cheers Luke. I'll get some cash together, which may take years considering the amount of debt I'm in!

Thanks for all of your help guys
