big wheels, old car

I realize how sweet those AMG Monoblock II wheels look on cars like the C43 and E55; could I mount a set of those on my elderly 300TD? How big can I go? What's the back spacing? Do you think I'd be the only one in town with AMG wheels on an '83 wagon? Thanks.

After you get yourself the AMG wheels, you will not be the only one with them on your wagon but you will not regret the change.

I have original monoblock I's on my '77 450SE W116 and think they look great on the older cars. I assume your 300TD is a W123 and would require wheels with an offset of 11 to 25 depending on wheel width. Later model MBs have offsets too high without using a spacer and something I would not personally do. You should be able to comfortably fit 17x8 wheels and possibly bigger though probably not wider.
