repair chrome rims

i have factory 1988 560SL rims, that were chromed from the previous owner.

my question is: there are a few chips and scrathes that I want to take out.

where do I have it done? and by who? and is it a big job? do I have to take the rims off the car?

I live in metro ny area. any advice would be great
