Yup. REAL ugly!
I wonder if they were mounted on some pimp-mobile?

Perhaps the car caught fire and these partially melted?

Absolutely hideous. I laugh my a** off at the kids around here driving what I call "goober speedy cars". Take a late 80's / early 90's $1200 Honda Civic beater, put $3K (really, 3K) of tires and wheels and $2K of stereo/DVD player on it, a stainless steel fart can on the back, and there ya go. With a 4" muffler tailpipe connected to a 1" exhaust system all to handle the HP of a lawnmower engine, back pressure should not be a problem.

An additional bizzare feature of goober speedy cars unique to this area stems from the lack of enforcement (or simply no law at all) concerning tires sticking out from fenders. I kid you not, some of the cars look like Flinstonemobiles. They must eat suspension parts and kidneys for breakfast. Where I'm from, I had to put very subtle flares on my Camaro when I was a kid in order to have tires 1/2" wider. No flares would have been a certain ticket.

One thing I envy about these cars is the incredible availability and low prices of body kits. Some of them are really very good, and made out of materials as good or better than the mfr's. I was in a speed shop a few weeks ago and I couldn't believe it.

wow! U-G-L-Y!

made in shop class?

i drove thru KY some time back. saw a beater drive up in a grocery store parking lot, or rather heard it coughing and squealing from a mile away... didn't even have a hood/bonnet over the engine. there must be no laws, no inspection. "live free or die." (oh no, that's actually new hampshire.)
