2003 E500 rims onto 1997 E320 .. bolt problem

I have a 97 E320 with 16" wheels.
I bought a set of 2003 E500 17 x 8 rims.

Problem:

1) my original bolts (the thread end) are too long for the new rims
2) the new rims have larger wheel holes than my bolts.

From reading through other threads.. I think I have the 12mm bolts and measure 95mm in total length.
The new rims probably uses the 14mm bolts.

I see post talking about conversion to studs. hmm
I looked at some washers and seaters on the web.
After all, I can't make out what I should get.

Please advise what to do, buy, or specific parts I should look into.
I guess I have to contact Luke directly if I don't get any response.

Thanks.

that they are not proper for your car does not meen that they don't fit. if you get 14mm bolt long enough (95mm) you could fit them to your car, but is will to much work for a 16 to 17 change.

took me 2 days to track down the answer, hope this help someone else

I just mounted 2003 E500 rims on my 97 E320 yesterday with special bolts. They were 17 by 8 rims with 245/45/17 tires. Mounted just fine, no problems. No rubbing, but I will put 235/40/17 front tires for better clearance.

My problem was w211 rims on w210 car. my 97 E320 uses 12mm x 1.5 threads, while the w211 rims take 14mm x 1.5 threads. Therefore special bolts needed to mount. They are 14mm ball seat with 12mm threads. However, they are $8 each.. costly, but very happy with the rims.

Anyway, I'm a new member too. I don't know if I can post the business contact on here, but you can email me if you are a member. That was how I done it previously to track down these bolts. I'm just a user, so don't email for other info.

Thank you for posting. I am looking at 2005 e500 rims for my 1998 e320 so I did a search and found this thread. Very good info!
I will send you a note and ask about the source for the bolts...
Thanks!
