Nope, I live/work in Philly - as in Philadelphia...actually in the suburbs of Philly. Look at my signature - I attended both recent GTG's with my wagon - and shot those pics too... it would be kinda hard if from Manila, don't you think??

And sorry I will never sell the original 15" wheels w/ hubcaps (code #646). These were factory options on my car along with the taller springs courtesy also of the HD suspension option (code #912) - and both are one of the rarest and least ordered options on a w123...so it would be way too wrong for me to separate these wheels away from this wagon...

Thanks anyway Tom!! BTW, the 15" wheels can still be ordered through MB, but the hubcaps must be located in another way - like ebay, yards, etc... I saw a set of 15" hubcaps (not 14's) sell on ebay recently for almost $200

I have to go with the stock wheels. The low profile tires just don't look right on a 123, especially a wagon. Just my opinion.

I'd keep the hubbercaps.

The pentas make it look like some kind of gangster mobile, which the car (or any 123 benz) clearly is not.

I agree, hubcaps or 15" bundts on a wagon. IMHO, sedans and wagons look more classical , stately , etc....with a full wheel or cover and

look gangster , ie.. wrong , not quite correct : : , etc.., with open type wheels.

The exception, depending on the wheel, would be the smaller 124's .

The coupe versions can go either way and look good. However, the SL looks better with open "sport" type wheels .

(Sorry guys, I realized that the smileys are being a little underused in my posts )

Sweet ride BenzBar!!! I prefer the Penta's, but I'm biased. Take a look at my wagon and you'll understand why...16x8 AMG Penta's and 45mm lowering springs.

Nice to see your wagon again Gary! I'm curious, what size tires are you using? staggered? or all equivalent?

225/16's on the front and 245/16's on the back.

Plus the 16" tires mounted are 225/50 series - I think it would be better with 215/60/16 or 225/60/16... Constructive criticism is always helpful... Thanks!!

Hey...I for one think those make the car look sporty instead of stodgy....

Plus it lets you run better tires than you can ever hope to find for the 14" alloys.

I would go for 215/50/16...60 series would induce a speedo error at the 215 size.

225/50/16 tends to catch the front left fender lip with suspension compressed....and the rears could take a size wider..but I like 4 equal tires on 4 equal rims so they can be rotated.

My AMG Penta's came with the 225/50/16 tires that were nearly new. I love the Toyo proxie performance wet and dry...so when replacement time rolls around I will get the 215 series...since I refuse to roll the fender lip and risk instigating rust.

The Pentas just don't look right on any 123, 300cd included. The 15 inch Bundt would be beautiful, and the 15 inch size opens up your tire selection. Everyone has their own taste, to me there is no difference between a 123, or 126 with Pentas and a 123 or 126 with a tail-fin on the trunk (looks completely Guido to me).

Thumbs up

15" Bundts but those old school hubcaps with rims I dig too.

Classic Wheels

I think the news wheels look ok..but what a classic it looks like with the originals...the originals are so classy that I would have to give it another look see..dont get me wrong, the new ones look like a suit on a penquin, the suit looks good but not on a classic.......love your car

I like the way the pentas look on your TD, I also like the hubcaps, both look good on your wagon. I don't see the "gangster" look that so many of you are talking about. The gangster mobile comment is funny too, if you look at some old shows from the late 70s and 80s, a lot of the time, the mob/gangster bad guys were in W126s or W123s of some sort. The pentas do belong on a W123 as far as AMG style rims go, they are from the 80's, as is the W123, so to put it technically, they're chronologically correct.
