When tires and/or wheels are out-of-round or tires are out-of-balance, what would be the perceived effect? In other words, I would expect to feel a shimmy in the steering wheel BUT what about a shimmy in the gear shifter knob? Would this be an expected effect from tire/wheel problems?
Thx!

Check out the Hunter Engineering web site. They make a machine that will test for out of roundness under a load.

If your are experiencing a vibration in the shifter you probably also have a vibration in the seat which indicates a rear wheel problem.
