Would a set of eight hole, 16" wheels from an S Class be the right offset for an early 300E? Would they have the right offset, and would I be able to use a set of 225/50-16's without clearance problems?

Thanks for your responses,

Sorry, the offsets on the S-class were just a little too high. And the offsets from and SL are a little too low. If you want 16" 8-hole wheels, probabyl have to go replicas.

Other E-class, SLK, CLK, and C-class wheels should fit. Good luck.

I keep telling you all that they DO make a 16" 8-hole for the W124. It was used from March 1993 onward in Europe on the 400E following the front brake upgrade (US never got this, hence we never saw the wheel). They make this wheel both painted and high-sheen. I have high sheen. See picture below.

They do make the wheel for the W124. But the ones of the S-class are a different offset. I guess they were trying to keep the S-class as distinct as possible for the US mrkt

My bad, they do make them. I just assumed you were trying to find some used ones in nice condition, and completely dismissed the 16x7 w124 8-hole wheels from Europe. I stand corrected. Sorry guys. Good luck on finding the 16" wheels.

Chiragp

Chiragp,

I like those 5-hole MB wheels you have on your car. I was wondering what the offset was? These are 17x7.5 right? Will they fit '87 260E?

thanks,

sjsfiji
