Tires for W115 / 114 1971 220D
any experience of putting wider than normal tires on the standard 14 inch rims? the orignal car used to come with 175SR-14s and I am thinking of 205-70-14s (perhaps 205-65-14s). any feedback?

personally
i wouldn t go that wide. it will make the car ride rougher and the steering will not be nearly as precise. also it may be beyond the width appropriate for the original rims. i wouldnt go more than one size wider on the tires.
i have tried it numerous times and in the end i usually like the original sizes best. tom w
