Wheel offset question w126...Take Two

What is the maximum offset that can safely be run using a 16X7 wheel on a 87 560SEL? It now has 15X7 20mm offset OEM trashed mega hole wheels. The wheels I am thinking about buying are no mileage take offs from an 2003 E320. The fitment chart shows 94 and up E320 as 15X7 ET35 and this is obviously not correct since many newer have 16's.

Any advice before I drive an hour plus each way during rush hour traffic to go try them on my car tonight. I am way busy with kids and would rather not waste my evening for no gain. If they are going to fit then it should be worth the trip etc...

PS these are the wheels/tires I am looking at: http://sacramento.craigslist.org/pts/116042833.html

Hey Luke...what is the interference point? It looks like there is room for some additional back spacing and diameter. Just curious so I know what the most common problem is at first glance. Do you happen to know what the max offset would be on a 16X7 or 16X7.5 on my W126?

Thanks bud!

Also whom makes a good quality hub centric spacer that would allow use of a 2003 E320 wheel (16X7 ET35?) on a 87 560SEL (15X7 ET20)?

my 126 came with a 29mm offset wheel from the factory ..... I do not know of an 11mm offset wheel OE on a 126 chassis car (I ran 35mm offset wheels on it)

A very old post I know...
Do you have pictures of the wheel or model/ serial number? To my knowledge the 15 inch wheels were ET25. I've not seen an ET29 stamped on a factory 126 wheel.
