W220 rims on W140??

I have a 97 S 500 with 235/R60 16 on Chrome stock 6 hole rims. I picked up a set of 02 S500 8 stock rims with 225/R60 16. Can i put the 225 rubber on my stock chrome or do i have to run the whole rim/tire package??
