Upgrading wheels on 83SD

Im not sure if anyone read the whole problem i had in the diesel discussion when someone asked about the 8 spoke wheels. Im guessing i have the 8spoke wheels off a w140. the guys on this forum say they are the wrong offset for a w126 so spacers are needed which i put on my merc. problem is now when im on the highway it wobbles violently going 50+ mph so for now its a city car another problem is when i do tight u-turns i get a boing sound over and over until i straighten out the wheels and the sound is gone

Can anyone help me on what i should do. Someone suggested selling the wheels for different ones which ill consider. Ive came across these beautiful aftermarket wheels and i had emailed the guy and he said it would fit my SD 100% with no spacers or special lugs needed. But ill leave that up to you to judge.

these are the wheels

Doesn't make sense that those wheels can fit CLK's (all years) and S-Class (all years) correctly.

The S-Class and CL (W140 and W220) use larger diameter bolts compared to the other Mercs.

He offers the wheels in two different offsets.

The W126 would require the 20mm offset.

However, I'm a bit concerned with the 8" width of the rim. If it clears the tie rod, the wheel will extend out past the fenderwell and you run the risk of contacting the fender on a heavy spring compression.

I'd go no wider than 7.5" on a W126.

I would be shocked if you didn't need spacers with those. If you are looking to spend that kind of money stop messing around and just order the proper ones from Tire Rack.

If you get a package all you do is bolt them on and drive, it may cost a little more but you get quality stuff that works!

I think you can get 8 hole ASA's for like $130 each.

Im sorry, those will just look ridiculous on a W126.. I know its your money and your car but I'd get monoblocks instead. Just my opinion though. Plus you'll be replacing your tires at sports car-intervals without the sports car performance with those 18's.

Do you know if real OEM monoblocks will fit a w126? Im not trying to go with spacers because they arent working well with the wheels i have now

A lot of the guys over their have AMG mono blocks on their cars. I suspect they need spacers, if you look them up on Tirerack their website may give you the info you need as well.
