I am thinking of changing my tire size from 205/65/15 to 225/60/15. I understand that the 205-225 change will be an increased width, but if I change from 65 to 60, what difference will I notice? Will it look any different?

The car is a 1989 300se, using the standard 15 hole rims.

Thanks

It will be lower profile--want to keep same overall diameter (if memory serves, you are just about there: 25.5 to 25.6). Had wide are those rims? Wide enough to handle 225's?

Well, actually the aspect ratio is directly related to the width of the tire. So if you increase the width, you most decrease the ratio to maintain the overall diameter. By changing from 205/65/15 to 225/60/15, you will notice a wider tire footprint and the hieght will be the exact same. The sidewall will look a little more tucked in (in the sense because of the wider tires.)

Trust me, its a great upgrade (especailly since it costs nothing more, then a standard tire replacement would anyways.) My personal preference is the Firestone Firehawk SH30s.
