Tire size

My PO put 195/65/14 tires on my 85 300SD the recommended size for this car is 205/70/14. I am going to replace the current tires with the correct size to see if I can improve the ride and handling. Anyone had any experience with this?

Unless the 85 was different than the earlier 126.120 cars, the original tire size was 195/70 14. The 126.125 300SDL did go to 205 along with 15 in wheels to 205/65 15.

Making the move you suggest should be a big improvement. The 195/65 14 tires are definitely too small.
