If you are looking to plus size the largest I'd personally go on a W201 190E is 16", esp with the sportline package. Anything larger than a 16" rim will harshen the ride dramatically. But I can uunderstand wanting to go even larger if you are going for looks.

I love the W201's, and the Sportlines are quite uncommon. If I had a w201 of my choice, it would be a 1993 Sportline in Gray metallic with a black interior. Id throw a set of 16"/7" 8-hole wheels, euro headlamps, "600/elegance" style grille, sport exhaust, and DRIVE!

Have fun!

Just a word of caution when changing your rims.... Your car uses lug bolts, not nuts.
The penetration through the wheel should be 15mm.
If your bolts on the new wheel are longer you'll have problems in the rear wheels (if the bolts extend too far past the spindle they will destroy your e-brake).

I put 17" wheels on mine and love it, ride is not harsh and performance is fantastic. used enkie r6 wheels and 215/45-17 tires, no rubbing and looks great. got many complments on the look.
