Tire Rack Winterforce M+S tires

Just wondering about the quality of the Tire Rack brand winter tire called Winterforce I saw on their web site. I was thinking about picking up a premounted set to put on the 98 E-300TD for next winter.
Any feed back would be appreciated....

Cheers,

Did you notice the speed rating of the tire? If it's less than H, I'd look for something else.

I've got these tires on my GM daily driver...they're very lazy when it comes to turn-in. They've worn very well but I would not tolerate such a soft sidewall on a Benz...it really makes the car a handful on the highway. Steering repsonse is weak.

Wink

Uberwgn....thanks! They are only SR speed rated. I do mostly highway driving so I probably should be looking at the Continental Winter Tire they have with an H speed rating.
Cheers,

aaargghhh!!!

Wish I read this thread earlier. Just bought a pair of Winterforce(for the wagon) for the winter here in NY. My first highway trip was a revelation! Too squuirelly for my taste.

Have to replace these next season; more likely throw them on the front and get a better set for the rear. Unless I should trash them totally. ??

Any ideas for a decent priced (cheap!) winter tire for an 85 wagon?

I love my winter force tires.Just add a 100 pounds in the rear, and you can go anywhere.I got studs,I pass people on ice,and have stopped on a icy hill.

the WinterForce is actually a Firestone tire. Until this year Firestone made them and branded them as WinterForce for some unknown reason. This winter they went back to putting the brand name of Firestone on them. In reality they are the same tire.
