A can of fixa flat works great in a pinch, but I'd avoid it if possible. Once in there, if they ever do want/need to repair the tire, plug or patch, it has to be removed and steam cleaned to get anything to even try to adhere to it again.

tire

well, I use to do all this stuff listed above. Not any more.

Now I buy a real quality tire, take it in every 5k miles for rotation, balanceing and if there is a nail they replace the tire. This is the only way to go.
I should have been doing it 30 years ago.

You buy a michelin and bring it back every 5k. They will rotate that thing and
spin balance it. and replace it at the first sign of a problem..
I find it hard to believe that some of you fellows that are such sticklers for using MB parts, and mb tools and changing your brake fluid. Here you are using tire plugs.

I bet that tire shop loves you.

They probably patch the nail and sell the tire to somebody else for $40.

well id like to know who you go through for your tires. i have never heard of a tire being replaced with a nail in the repairale area. i think your full of it. michelin is such a pain in the a$$ to patch. i suppose you run your brake fluid through 20 different cars before you change it? funny thing is all manf. recommend changing the brake fluid. when did mercedes make a tire?
