124 wheel options

Interested in replacing my stock 15" wheels on a 1987 300TDT wagon, with either a 16" or 17" mercedes rim. Any suggestions it terms of fitment, year model etc. Thx

The 17" Borbet rims and Michelin tires (225/45 Front and 245/40 Back) in my sig-pic are from an '06 C230 Kompressor. I can't remember the offset figure, but these definitely stick out a tad more; no rubbing so far, and I've cut 4" from all four springs as well.

I like the 1999 16" CLK wheels (ET37 7" width) that show up occasionally. Here's a thread about 124 wheels: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/mercedes-benz-wheels-tires/155128-specific-w124-wheel-tire-help-please.html#post1184887

Try some 16" 8-hole rims- they look correct for the car and don't cost an arm and a leg

124 wheels

Found on ebay, 2004 takeoffs from a 320slk, front 7x16, 34 offset, tires 205/55/16, rear 8x16, 30 offset, tires 225/50/16, doing the math the fronts should be ok, the rears look ok inside clearance but extend out about 1.5 inches. Concerened about fender clearance. Any thoughts or other issues? thx
Ron

How did that work out for you? Did you get better handling? what kind of shocks do you have and does it bounce more?

Sorry for the questions im just curious...

Sure would like to see some pictures.....including views straight on from the front and from the rear to see how the tires position in relation to the fender sheetmetal.

that style first appeared on the SLK's. 209 CLK's and 203 C-class got them next in 17" somewhere around late 04 or 05. If i'm not mistaken the 06 C class should have the new style 6 spoke 17's, very awesome looking if I may say so. I haven't been fortunate enough to get a set of those yet, but soon enough!

anyways 124's aren't really picky as far as new mb rim style fitments are concerned. I've had most of the newer styles on mine (with the exception of the CLS 18's) with no problems. I did have to roll my rear fenders to get the AMG 17's to fit in back.

The wheels that Ruben has on his were what was on my 300D when I bought it.
