I've been through two sets of Michelins, one set of Toyos and one set of Bridgestones and none of them give me more than about 25,000 miles. I always rotate and keep the pressure accurate. I'm due for a couple of tires now and was hoping to try the Continental Extreme Contacts, but what I hear is that they had lots of out of round issues and they are being retooled at the factory and the new edition won't be available for a month or two. They have just appeared again as "low stock" on the Tire Rack website. Previously they were out of stock. Am I to assume that the tires now in stock are the old version with the out of round problem? If so, what else would you suggest? If they are the new edition, I'll take them. I was considering the Continental Conti ProContact as an alternate for now. At $73/tire, if I'm only going to get 20,000 or 25,000 miles out of a tire, I may as well not spend big bucks up front for one. There are two ProContacts shown. The only difference I can see is the load rating. Do I get the one with the heavier load rating? Looking for a 215/55R16 BTW.
Thanks.
