KH11 or KH16s on a SDL

Just picked up my new to me 87 300SDL. I have 3/4 worn Bridgestone Potenza G009s on the front, and a pair of Kenda somethingorothers on the rear, all of which are causing a great symphony of vibrations on the four hour ride home.

So, I've narrowed my choices down to the Kumho KH16, and the KH11. I know both are great choices, the KH11 handles like its on rails, but my concern is the longevity and noise. The KH16 has good longevity, but I'm not sure abotu the wear.

Can you folks chime in with your .02? What would you choose between the two?

Thanks all!

I have kh11's on my car they are nice tires if you ask me, but after 2.5 years and about 20,000 miles maybe a bit more they are almost gone. They were supposed to be higher mileage tires, but for the priceI got them for it was well worth it. I would definately buy them again.

Thanks!

I bought the KH11s and I freakin LOVE THEM! In fact I ordred a set for my new 87' 300D. The KH11 has tenacious grip, especially when it's wet out, even on a heavy 126 LWB Diesel! I am running 37 in the front and 39 in the rear, which I have found gives me the best ride/handling/fuel economy. Kumhos are very sensitive to air pressure, so thats why I'm running what I am. I have a friend who is a Montgomery County Constable here and he's running them on a Crown Vic, has nothing but good things to say about them. I'm very pleased with the way they ride and handle. They're also very quiet. For the money, they're hard to beat. I imagine with rotation, I'll get 35-40K out of them, but again, for the price, I don't mind at all if they dont last longer. In any case Dry Rot will take the tires before age will anyway.

I have driven on MXV, MXV4, P600, P6000 on my mothers 420SEL, and the KH11 in my opinion has superior handling characteristics, however, thats not comparing apples to apples, the others listed above are Grand Touring All Season type tires, vs the KH11, but down here in Texas we dont really have winter.

I did, however, pick up some KH16s for a 93 Honda Accord EX, and I'm pretty pleased with them. They ride and handle nice. But they dont hold the road like the KH11 does.
