holes on MB wheels between lug holes...

I've read that the five small holes between the lug nut holes on OEM wheels are for alignment purposes.

What exactly do the holes do and how do you utilize them

they are for wheel alignment, there is a special adapter that slides in to the holes. i ave never seen one in use, the mercedes dealer where i worked used the standard type that arrach to the rim, may be for factory use only?
