Opinions on the Goodyear Response Edge

Anyone have any opinions (good or bad) about this somewhat newer tire.

So far what I like about it, is the not directional tread. They seem pretty responsive. They might last a long time. I'm a little worried about the wet traction.

Well... I bought the response edge tires... so far, so good. I have about a 1000 miles on them. They seem firm. (I might have them aired up a wee bit too much) They seem very concentric (round). They are very well balanced. They might be a little slippery in the rain. The steering response is very good. They were made in USA, which was also a goal. They are supposed to be Goodyear's premier touring tire right now, and I'd say I have to agree.

Response Edge

Acura TSX

I have had the Goodyear response edge tires for about 3 months now.

Pros
-Handling.
-Dry pavement traction.
-Noise
-Stopping ability under hard braking

Cons
-They were VERY hard to balance since they are not "true" if you spin the tire you can actually see the tread going back and forth. Steering wheel shook at 100KM/Hr so just had them balanced AGAIN at another Acura Dealership (Third times a charm!!) and it is a bit better now but not 100%.

-These tires are terrible in the rain! I cannot believe that Goodyear put a "9" beside their wet tire rating for this tire.

-Not sure about the snow yet.

Conclusion
-Very... disappointed. Especially for the price

The responsedge isnt a bad tire at all especially with a 50k mile limited tread warranty. I work at a goodyear tire retail center and have sold quite a number of them. One complaint I get from my customers is of a somewhat stiff ride and tire not getting as much grip as rated. If these tires are aired up too much then the tire is pretty much useless since it has a little harder compund.

No surprise there.

I don't think Goodyear is capable of making a round tire. But, they are quite good at making black ones.

Your tires will never be satisfactory on a M/B.........even if you balanced them 20X.

It's a sad commentary that people continue to fall for the Goodyear marketing BS.

Nobody should own a Goodyear tire for a Mercedes.
