It depends on what you consider "better". I have driven Michelins for about 26years. I have never had a Michelin "blow out" (knock on wood) We did have a flat on a Michilin after hitting a bad pot hole, it bent the rim edge. So the air leaked out.

Last set of Michelins on the 300Td had 70,000 miles when I got the new Michelin X-ones. I have the new Michelin Hydroedge on the SL with a 90,000 milage wear.
