Dear all.
As you all probably know my tires blown
I was wondering which tires are better in terms of life of the tire and wet traction.
Tire rack has a clearance on the S-02 right now
215/45/17 for 140.
Potenza RE 730 aree 134 each
P7000 are 138 each.
I read their reviews and I don't know which on to pick.
Is the RE730 a newer design tire ?
Does S0-2 burn out really fast ?

Any tips or concerns will help
Thank you very much for your time.
Pete regards

I don't know if it is of any help, but I use 215/45-17 Pneumant tires on my C250D. The current set of tires is my 4th set of 17" Pneumants and these tires last 50-65.000km per set! Pneumant is actually manufactured by Dunlop and as long as I can purchase them, I will use them on my C250D (I drive 200+ km/h for longer time periods without tire problems or whatever).

greetingz,

First of all thank you for the inputs everyone.
I forgot to tell you guys that my car is a W124. The stock tire size is 195/65/15.

The correct tire size for 17" wheels should be 225/45/17/. The only reason why I went with 215 was because 225 will rub against my inner fender during cornering.
When I first had 225, the car looks much better and handles better.
I want to raise my car a little higher, I use H&R lowering springs. It said it will lower it 1.8" at the front, but I think more like 2.5 to 3". The rear looks just fine.
Can I get some thinker spring pad to raise the car up a bit more ?

HM.. so SP9000 and RE730 should be some really great tires.
They last long and grips the road pretty good.
If S0-2 wears out that fast that tire will be off my list. I want these tires to at least last 1 year. None of my tires so far could last more then 1 year. Those P7000summer that I had lasted for about 9 months. SP9000 lasted for about the same time, and there is about 1/4 of the trend left right now but too bad they ripped apart.

Should I go back to 225 instead of 215 ?

Thanks
Pete regards

I hated the P7000 SuperSports! Poor traction, nervous at high speeds, terrible in 1" snow, wore out too quick and became more noisey as they wore. Search Mercedes Shop for the bad press on the P7000 SS.
