Rims

Hey got a quick question for you guys. I recently picked up a set of Ronal R9's for about 300$. The probelm though is that they were sandblasted and are going to need to be cleaned up and painted. They are in good condition but there pitted, so I called two shops and both quoted me about 500-600 depending on how deep the pitting is. So, do I spend the 600 for refurbishing or find some other alternative. Also how much were these rims brand new?
Thanks,
Mike

I usually end up paying about $400 for a good set of R9s. How much they were brand new is irrelevant to your current situation, so don't go there. Is it worth it for you to pay $600 to get them fixed? I don't know - is it?

I paid $125 each to get my R9s "restored" - I used http://www.wheelcrafters.com because they were in Houston where I live.

Get in contact with RESTOCK wheels.

It'll cost around $100 per wheel, from what I hear. This includes stripping paint/coat, welding, cnc re-cutting, media blasting and paint/powder coat.

Turnaround time is usually 1.5-2 days.

They might be a future employer for me.

i would probably just get them bead blasted and paint them with a rattlecan. i have never done this but i guess i might try one just for kicks to see how it looks. i have done some touch up with the rattle cans and been pretty satisfied with the looks.

Yeah orginally I tried to sand them down by hand but I quickly realized how long that was going to take. So then I figured I might as well get them proffesionally cleaned and painted but I didnt realize how expensive that was going to be. Im still not sure what I am going to do.
