126 Wheels

This probably belongs in the wheel section, but there is more traffic of the experts here. Will the following wheel K1 8JX16H2 ET34 fit on my 83 300SD?

I have seen pictures of 16" CLK wheels on 126's as well and think they look like an updated version of the standard wheel. I believe their offset is 37mm.

Any advice given is certainly welcome.

Thanks

You can probably get an 8" wheel to fit a W126 with the proper offset (23). It doesn't appear that you'll be successful with a 34 offset............but, I haven't attempted it.

Here - look at this, then go out to the car and measure the difference.

I'd say the answer is NO.

That's a great resource Fred. Thanks for posting it.

I agree.......24mm is not available on the W126.

I was afraid that would be the answer, frustrating the few options out there.

http://www.tirerack.com has a selection of wheels with the correct offset. They even have a side picture of a 126, that you can apply a different color to, with the wheels selected on the "car".

No they will rub badly. You can run them with H&R spacers, but then they stick out.

Roll them!

Its amazing what wheels some people stick on these cars. 18in AMG's come to mind, I just don't see how they would fit. They must just rub all the time and people are dumb and just turn up the radio.

They should fit. You will need a small 5mm spacer to install the bearing dustcap properly.

Look at the second post here.
