Gota Be a Better way!

Ok, MB experts and enthusiasts, there has to be a better way to change a tire on the MB. I just did the brakes on my son's 320e, and it seemed to take forever to line up the lug bolts. I got to thinking if I had to do this along side the road, I would have a fit. So, any suggestions how to line those suckers up????

There is a threaded aluminum shaft about 4 inches long for this purpose. Part number has been published here before but it was a long time ago. I believe it may exist in the tool kits of some models.

It should be in the tool kit of EVERY model. You simply screw it into one of the holes in the hub and hang the wheel on it. Really makes it an easy chore.

i always turn the hub so that one hole is directly on top, then put the wheel on with a hole at the top. then putting in a bolt and wiggling a bit will do the trick.

this works about 90% of the time. 10% requires strenuous cursing.

Lock the parking brakes and you've got an easy deal on the rears.............wiggle without the hub rotating..........
