Will 18" with 245/40/18 tires with a 35 offset fit a W210 E320? Also, if I drop the car about 1.5", will I need a fender roll?

TIA

Be on the safe side and get the fenders rolled. Someone may say that they added 245/40/18 up front and 275/35/18 in rear and did not roll fenders and have not notice any rubbing. Maybe this person drives straight, level and easy all the time and does not really push or drive the car hard. I see ignorant guys with tires that stick out beyond the wheel wells and probably will not admit to the rubbing.

I have heard rubbing and/or shock bottoming out when I drive and corner hard and fast with 16X7.5 OEM with 215/55/16 and have the same on my 17X7.5 (ET30) with 235/45/17 tires.

The standard W210 suspension is too soft, floaty, bouncy and nervous at high speeds. The dampers, springs and the sway bars need to be stiffer.

I have a 2000 E430 Sport on which I have installed Eibach springs and the 245 40 18 tires on 8" x 18" 37 mm offset wheels. No rubbing at all. No other problems. However, it is my understanding that the Sport models have the fenders rolled at the factory.

How do you like the Eibach Pro-Kit Springs? How much did they lower the car? Did you change the spring pads also? Eibach now makes a complete suspension kit with matching Pro-Damper Sport Shocks and Anti-Roll Bars for the W210 E-Class. Here are the part numbers:

ANTI-ROLL-KIT 2537.320
PRO-DAMPER KIT 2536.840

Hey Kevin,

LOVE the Eibach springs. They lowered the back about 1.25" and the front about an inch. I have a set of "1 bump" spring pads that I am going to replace the front ones with to lower it another 5 mm or so. Front still seems a bit too high.

Ride is not affected at all. A bit more firm, a bit less body roll.

Thanks for the info. on the Eibach shocks and anti-roll bars. Do you know anyone who has installed either?

Sorry MickeyE430, don't know anyone. I wanted to upgrade the suspension on my 98 E430 but have decided to get a 2000/2001 E55. My E430 is for sale ($43,000) with 37,000 miles.

When you want to finish the Eibach upgrade buy it at discount from my local Performance store - http://www.statusimports.com .

Kevin,

I assume you are in the DC area? Checked out Status Imports' website, but couldn't locate any Eibach products.

What all have you bought from them? What kind of discounts do they offer?

Yes, I am also yearning for an E55. Do you get AutoWeek magazine? In their classifieds lately there have been several '00 and '01 E55s for sale. I saw one '01 with only 7,000 miles for $69,900. That, in my book is a bargain. Check out their website http://www.autoweek.com

Saw it

Give him a call, I'm pretty sure it's not a US spec car.
