16" wheels on 300sd
The tires are dangerously bad on my 84 300sd.
After a stroll around the archives reading on sizing I figure there is some advantage to going to 16" from the 14" wheels. Its not important enough to me to get some blingy new aftermarket wheels. I was just going to do it if I could find some cheap junkyard wheels. After some calls and further reading it looks like ive got the 112mm diameter bolt pattern. It looks like older MBs are the only cars with this 112mm diameter hole pattern. Does anyone know what other car models share the same sizing that might be a junkyard find for a simple slap em on?

You're not finding any 16" wheels in a junkyard that will fit that vehicle.
If you want a junkyard find, you'll have to settle for the 15" wheels that are found on the W126 from the years 1986-1991. But, they will need refinishing and you'll still pay $200. for the set of four. |

I *think* that the 8 holes from the W140 will fit with different tires. But try to bolt one up or check the offset before you buy them. If thats so all you need to do is find a junk W140 with good wheels, and install some 225/55/16 rubber on them.
