BMW = 5-120 PCD
MB = 5-112 PCD so, no BMW wheels will not fit a Mercedes

The only other common vehicles with a 112mm pattern:
are rear engined VW busses, late '60s and on -- I doubt that you'll find much to admire over there, but I do know some people with M-B W126 rims on their vanagons, because the 20-30mm offset works, too.

VW/Audi use the same bolt patter, but the center bores are smaller. My guess is that if a VW is running MB rims, the hub has a lot of free play given the larger MB centers.

plastic rings will fill the gap
cheap too at 15 a set of 4 most bigger/better wheel/tyre store stock or can get them IF you want the best steel or even SS rings can be custom made in any size for not a lot of cash |

So, then VW/AUDI rim will fit a 112mm car? but need hub bushings?

Older Porsche and VW rims may not be hubcentric:
I know that in the late '60s, when Porsche introduced their mass-produced first aluminum wheel option, we had to use a special attachment to the new German-made computer balancers supplied to dealers; the attachment gripped the wheels through the regular lug holes because they would not spin true nor balance properly with the usual cone centering devices. I'm not talking here about the wide open circle pattern of the '50's and early '60s, but the more normal 130mm bolt circle used from the beginning of the disc brake era.
