W210 wheels stuck on their hubs

Folks,

I don't want to appear to be too stupid, but it there anything special about removing wheels from the hubs on a 2002 E320 (with sport package)? The car is on jack stands and the lug nuts are out. Now I can't pull the wheels off the hubs. Am I missing something?

Thanks for your help,

Steve

There is not anything speical holding them on to my knowledge. Prob disimaliar metals stuck together

Try wacking the tread with a heavy hammer.

Use your legs and feet and kick from inside to break it free from the hub. As mentioned in the above post the disimilar metals made them stick.

When you get them off wire brush where the wheel goes on the hub and apply some antiseeze compound. The next time you go to remove the wheels they should fall off.

Thanks, Guys

I have three of the off now. The right front is soaking in penetrating oil while I enjoy my cocktail. I'll try again in the morning.

Thanks, again,

Steve

Just use your two hands and give the tire at the 12 o'clock a good push/wack. The weight of the wheel/tire should do the rest.

We use a sledge and a 2 X 4 against the wheel. Works every time and you won't damage the wheel. This is on the inside of the wheel of course.

Just give the tire a swift kick, while down on the ground for leverage. only kick one side though. This works every time. I did, what seems like a million road calls for AAA, and such, back in my Towing days...LOL. kick it from the front, NOT the back...you won't likely be successful from the back, and do you really wanna lay down on your back under a 4500lb. vehicle, up on blocks? You can either hit it with a good sized sledge hammer, or just stomp it.

if you smack it from the rear, screw one of the lug bolts in a few threads to stop the wheel from flying off and smashing/rolling into things. been there...

My ML had the same issue, I did not want to hit it too hard since it was on the jack. MB road aid came out and used a big bar and it popped off (rust)
