Just went from 15" wheels with 195/65-15 tires (I think) to 17" wheels with 215/45-17 tires. For the 15 inch tires the recommended pressures for normal driving were 29 psi front and 32 psi rear. I'm inclined to run a bit more psi to protect the rims (due to the reduced sidewall dimension of the 17" tires) but how much? Any knowledgeable opinions?
Luke at the Tire Rack said to use the same pressures as before, but I'd like to hear from other experts as well. Thanks in advance Bill

Since the load rating on your new tires is roughly 70 lbs less per tire, I would increase the tire pressure by at least 4 PSI to compensate the lower lead carry capacity.
