Centra wheels 16"

hey guys just got some centra wheels(R31) for my 1985 500SEL

would 225/55/16 tires be ok..

some people said it might hit fender?? and I should go with 225/50/16, but others say it fits ok

any ideas.. thanks

I believe that Hattie runs 225/55/16's on his W-126. The height is just a bit taller than the stock 205/65/15's so you won't have any problems with them.

I don't see the need to run '50s.

I have 16" Centras on a 420SEL (for sale cheap btw). No rubbing with whats on it now.

I'll check what size tires are mounted and look at the clearance.

Yes they will fit but depending on the rim size.
Look at my avatar and that is what I have.
Mine are staggered - 7" front and 8" rear. 225s mounted on fronts seem fat than the rears but overall they will fit, depending on ur taste/preference.
