Are all 124 steering wheels the same?

I bought a used leather wrapped steering wheel off of a 91 300E PART NUMBER 124 464 02 28. Will this fit my 88 300E ? Does it also fit W201 and W126 cars? ? Thanks for any help. I can't get my old wheel off without some major torque from a shop, and wanted to make sure the new one would fit first.

Among the W124 and W201 airbag steering wheels, there are only two or three versions, but they are interchangeable on the hub. The bags themselves are specific to the fitted wheel, but the wheel portion will fit the column.

Yes, that 10mm allen head bolt is on tight. Use the biggest breaker bar you have. Have a helper hold the wheel and do not have the steering wheel locked.

Thanks, that is what I wanted to know. I did use a breaker bar with a cheater and snapped the 10mm allen socket in half! So I think I will go to the shop down the street and see if they can hit it with an impact wrench.

The '91 will fit the '88 but later on there was a change.

If your '91 wheel is a smaller diameter, you're going to feel it in increased steering effort.
