AVS db 1000 mile report

I've had the Yoko AVS db's on the S500 for a little more than 1000 miles. They are, as advertised, quiet, but excellent performing tires. Cornering is fine. Wet traction is excellent. Dry traction excellent (but didn't try jackrabbit starts). Much better than Conti's that were OEM equipment for first 400 miles. Anybody wanna buy 4 Conti's?

Thumbs up Yokohama AVS dB report

After much protracted research I went for 4 Yoko AVS dBs ($79- Over 3 weeks on order) for the 560 SL using stock size of 205/65/VR15s and WOW!!!

Just finished a 3500 mi trip from Texas heat, through part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and some hard rains and these Yokos are wonderful. Exactly what I wanted. Ride, traction, and tracking exceeded all my expectations. Nothing I have read about them seems exaggerated.

They are stunningly quiet -- I can now (though barely) hear the turn signal click at speed, but not when Michelins or other "noisy" tires are alongside.

The car came to me with almost new Goodyears, so I never drove it with Michelins, though usually I buy Michelins for my cars. I am usually a conservative driver, but for the SL I want the reserve performance there -- just in case, but at half the $$$!
