I would like to know if a 215/45/17 will fit under the wheel wells of my 16 valve. The rims are 17x8 and a 35 mm offset. I currently have 215/40 on a 17/7.5 and a 35 offset. Thanks, joe

Well this is a wierd one in dead, cause I know that many 16v owners have got to fit 235/40/17s on 17x8 with a 35mm offset under their 190Es with a fender roll and still hve their vehicles lowered drastically. Then again some don't. Don't know how to explain it, might be able to get away with a 225/40/17 by Nitto. I think 215/45/17 fit, but if you lower your car, don't even bother try'n.

My old 1992 2.6 190E was lowered and rode on 17''x7.5 AMG wheels....only could use a 205/40 in the front...the 215/40 and 45's rubbed in the front only. I would think an 8'' wheel in the front would be too wide unless you flared out the fenders like the real AMG 190E's were in early 1980's. Rears you can go 8.5'' no problem. Tire choice too is crucial as there are many different shoulder profiles although the tire size are the same.Check out the 190Revolution site...many different styles of wheels and tire set-ups.
