That's simply untrue. Both clearcoat and painted wheels were used on '95s, and perhaps other years. The photos in the first post make the difference abundantly clear.

You're not confused. MB used both wheels on '95s. Why-dunno. It could be certain models or certain trim levels or options had one wheel or the other.
