Upgrading wheels - new or used lug bolts?
I purchased a set of late model W126 wheels for my SD and i'm contemplating on whether to purchase a new set of lug bolts or a used set.
Since it seems the used ones may be stressed by impact guns and what not over the years, a new set sounds like it'll make more sense. And also where's a good place to get them?

I bought mine at Napa - I took in an old one and they matched it to a picture. You ought to buy new ones if you're worried about the old ones.

I would buy new lug bolts, unless the ones you have are in like new conditions.

new ones .. old will look crappy with new wheels ... chances are the plugs on the end will be loose too

The lug bolts for the W126 15 hole wheels are deeply recessed so you can't see them unless you're up close.

I would not hesitate to use old ones if they are in good shape. Buying aftermarket lug bolts I would be concerned that they aren't as good as the originals.

I wouldn't worry about using old bolts unless the threads look suspect. If you want to buy new ones, I only buy from RAD USA. Great service, and they can special order anything from Germany that you want. I'm waiting for a set to come off the boat next week in fact. All their bolts are TuV certified (aka GREAT stuff).
