Which tires should I get?
My SDL needs new shoes, I did tireracks search and came up with 19 results.
Here is what I am looking for: 225/55/16 front 245/50/16 rear According to tireracks website I can use the slightly wider rear tires with my wheels, which I bought from them a few years ago. I want a tire with grip, thats quite and smooth riding on the highway. Also one thats good in the rain. I'm thinking about going with Bridgestones because they are priced pretty well. I'm thinking about these: Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position or Bridgestone Potenza RE750 Any pro's or cons? What about Kumho Ecsta SPT? They are a lot cheaper and the reviews are pretty good.

Also do consider Yokohama C drive or AVS, excellent tire with grip, low noise and performance. C drive is their new tire, excellent wear and performance till end, very good on rain as well as superb dry performance.

I think the 960s are excellent tires. Owned 2 sets of 950s before they replaced them in the lineup. I gotta wonder though, how would those behave on a 126? They seem a little too aggressive to me. If you have springs or HDs, then maybe. Otherwise, I'd check on the Pilot Exalto AS, just from what I've heard. What tire are you coming from? Or did I miss that?

I have Yoko V4S's on their now, total POS's. They have around 25k miles on them and a ton of tread left. But the belts keep shifting they will not balance, and wet traction is a joke, they are like racing slicks! I hate having to throw out tires with 50% tread left.
Last week I was driving around with my friend in the rain, and the rear end came out around a corner. He was like WTF you were driving slow. They were great for the first 20k miles though! I'm leaning towards the Bridgestone 960's. Luke seems to like that series and my friend has them on his car. I'd love Dunlop SP9000's, but they don't make them in the size I need.

I've owned Goodyears, Pirellis, Bridegstones, Yokos, Coopers, Dunlops and Michelins, and the Michelins are the ONLY tire that has balanced out and not required a ton of weight. They are also wearing evenly, even being Z-rated and having 30k miles on them. My Bridgestone RE950s didn't even balance that well, and I also only got 22k on them (H-rated too!)
I would really be leaning toward Michelins, but that's just my bias

In my case, with both the 4WD, Yokohama Geolandar have needed the least balance and these are huge tires. Have had Michelin LTX, good off road, horrid on road, Goodyear Wrangler AT, bad all over, Bridgestone Desert Dueler, good on soft sand, useless in rain, will hydroplane with ease. Only Yokohama stuck the right balance, for my 4WD and my Accord and now my 300 turbo diesel, for the Accord I use AVS with excellent results and for the MB I have put the newly released C drive, the noise level has gone down big time.
I am surprised that Avid performed so poorly.

Don't bother with staggered tires, what is this a Corvette? I'd rather be able to rotate them, 225 is plenty big anyways.

It would be for looks. I can only rotate front to back anyway since they are directional.

Oh crap, I read your other thread, I didn't think you'd ever sell your SDL ! Don't put any special tires on it if you're going to sell it
