Car wandering

I have just fitted 4 new alloys to my 1997 E class (210), & have noticed that besides steering not being dead straight the car wanders on some roads.
I mean by this the feeling is like that it is going to the left & then right in a slight kind of zig zag way(hard to describe unless your driving it). [B]
The wheels are actually 17 inch with 235/45 17 Dunlop sport tyres on all four.
Gratefull for any suggestions as to if this should be expected with larger wheels?

Did you have OE wheels and tires in a smaller diameter before?
If so yo will notice the "Zig ZaGNess" with the wider tires, with little flex in the side walls.
As for the steering centered, is the car known to be truely aligned? Tire pressure all correct and even? Any worn steering components will definately show more play with your better wheel and tire combo on there now.

excuse my ignorance, but does OE mean original manufacturer wheels etc?
Yes the previous wheels were Mercedes standard fit 15 inch & tyres were smaller also.

The low profile tires have a very different feel over imperfections in the pavement.

The steering wheel should be straight though if it was before.

So, I agree with Kutza.
